Whether you are needing to make some contacts or are just looking to make new friends, here’s a site to go check out. WiredClub.com! WiredClub is a fairly unique looking gathering place. It’s got all the stuff you need and want, plus a little bit more.

From just a quick cruise around their site it looks like a fairly quick signup process and then you can post your own profile, view other profiles, chat, and even start your own free blog. The membership looks like it’s growing now that word has gotten out, these things take off… you know how it works, everyone wants to be able to say they were one of the first ones to find a cool new site.

One of the really interesting features is the club option. You can meet and gather with other people with similar likes, dislikes, thoughts, and ideas. Knowing that there is always a place you go online to meet and talk to people who share your interests is a very good thing.

Between the free chat rooms, the free blog, and the opportunity to meet and hang out with people you share similarities with, WiredClub appears to be a pretty cool place.

Whether it’s a forum, a social networking site, or a blog; there are many ways to network for both personal and business purposes online.  Plus, sometimes you never know which method or site will be the one that ends up working for you.

Banner ads can be a very effective and inexpensive way to get your market message out online, although they are probably not as effective as they were when they first debuted.

Like other forms of online marketing, you need to test and track everything that you do with banner ads.

Keep in mind that not all banner ads are created equal; some are much more effective than others. While smart placement of a banner will do some of the work, the ad itself needs to do some work, too. First, don’t just advertise your site in a general way. Instead, promote a particular product or service. Remember: People are protective of their time, and if they have to browse your site to find a product that interests them the chances are much lower that they will buy something than if they click through to your site because a particular product has caught their attention.

Be simple in your message, but dynamic in your design. Animated ads are more eye-catching than static ones, and ads with eye-popping color will do much better than bland ones. Keep the size of the ad small, though. If it takes a long time to load, most visitors won’t bother waiting and they will move on.

Lastly, place ads at the top of the page, so they are seen when the page loads. That will get more attention that an ad placed nearer the bottom, which would require the visitor to scroll down.

Using banner ads can be an effective and inexpensive way to get increased exposure for your site if you follow these tips.

Think of a press release as a short newspaper article. Introduce your site, quickly address its main features, sum up why it’s a useful site or should be visited, and be done with it. Most webmasters, both beginners and old-timers, know all about article submission as a way to get your website name or identity out there. With the advent of social networking though, it seems some have begun to overlook, or under use, the power of article distribution.

If you can write or have written an acceptable article regarding your site, get it out in front of people’s eyes. A well written and informative article placed on your website is only accessible to your current visitors. While it is important to keep some content for the people that come to your site right now, don’t forget to use some of your content to continue getting more and more users. If one of your articles becomes well used by other webmasters, the backlinks you get from it can contribute to a great amount of traffic.

One of the problems that many webmasters stumble on is under using the power of article submission. Many times people find one articles directory and submit all their articles there and wait for the traffic to come rushing in. While this will usually work to a degree, why overlook all the other article submission directories? While it isn’t feasible to submit articles to every directory out there, it is beneficial to research what are the most used article submission directories and submit to them. Just like many people only submit to one directory, many people only go to one directory to retrieve their articles. If you have articles stored in four different directory’s databases, your potential for traffic is theoretically four times more than if you only submit to one directory. You’ll be getting your articles, and therefore your backlinks, in front of three more pairs of eyes.

So, don’t overlook or under use the power of free article submission sites. They are plentiful, so do your research… and then go whip up some content right now!

In 2005, The MillionDollarHomepage (MDH) made internet history by selling one million pixels for one dollar per pixel, generating a whopping one million dollars for its owner. Now, almost 2 years and thousands of copy-cat sites later, pixel advertising is all but dead. This writer believes that with the proper implementation, pixel advertising could rise again.

The MDH was a brilliant idea and while it served its purpose, had several flaws that prevented it from thriving after the million pixels were sold. In case the reader isn’t familiar with the MDH, I’ll provide some basic history. MDH had a 1 megapixel image on its homepage and it sold 10 X 10 pixel blocks of this image for people to advertise on, which would link to their websites when clicked. They could not change the image and were limited as to what details people would see when they moved their mouse over the micro-ad. It sold these 10 X 10 blocks (100 pixels) for one dollar a pixel (the minimum purchase was 100 dollars). All one million pixels sold in just over 4 months (give or take). The site was getting an insane amount of traffic so advertisers were chomping at the bit to get their ad on the website. Some of the space even went up on eBay towards the end for much more than the original price.

The problem with MDH was the price was too high (relatively speaking) that most ads were really too small to see. It was really by the luck of the draw or how flashy your 10 X 10 image was whether your ad got clicked or not. As the dust settled, the advertisers on MDH realized that people were really only coming to the webpage to see if it was filling up and what click traffic they were receiving from the site was "trash" traffic. The copy-cat sites that emerged only compounded the problem by trying to exploit what MDH had already done wrong. A very negative tone echoed throughout the web about micro-advertising and the "fad" has died out over the last 12 months or so. Don’t get me wrong, this was obviously a good idea since MDH did achieve its goal, it could have been so much more though.

So how can pixel advertising make a comeback? The same idea as the original site can still be applied but something has to be done to keep visitors coming back for more. Advertisers will no longer pay the one dollar per pixel price for such small, unnoticeable ads so the price must be lowered. Advertisers also need other incentives to advertise on the site. Advertisers need to be able to change their ads when they want. The system needs to be fully automated. The ads need to be accessible other ways than just having the ad displayed on a grid. There needs to be more space available to advertise on but not so much that it becomes a commodity. And finally, the site must be promoted. A good site will just sit there without the proper promotion, I don’t care how unique and innovative it is.

These few small changes could really turn a good idea into a great idea and breathe new life into the pixel advertising industry. It seems so simple but no one has been able to effectively put all of these elements in place since the MDH. I think there is still a place out there for pixel advertising. Only time will tell if anyone can pull it off.

Everyday you update your blog. You write about your life and post it on your site. But no one reads them. Then you try writiting about latest technology and gadgets hoping that you will get some comments from readers on the next day but still, not many people comes to your site. But you still continue posting and updating your site everyday, every night. After some period, you realized that you need to promote and advertise your site but you don’t know how.

Here I will share with you some tips on how to promote and get more readers to your site. I’m no expert in site advertising or marketing but I have some little knowledge that I want to share with you. :d

Join bloggers forum
Join and participate in bloggers forum or portals. Introduce yourself and brief politely about your site. Tell them what your site is about. I’m sure in every bloggers forum, there is a section where you can promote or show off your blog. Post something there.

Describe your blog and invite them to visit. If the forum admin enable signature in post (usually it is enable), put your site link in your signature. That way, peoples can see your site link when you post or reply someone’s post on the forum.

Visit other blogs
You must start it first. Don’t wait people come to your site. Visit other member’s blog and drop them some comments about their blog posts. Don’t give comments say something like, “Hey, nice site!” or “I love your site. Cool!” but give comments that relate to their posts. If they read your comment, they also will visit back to your site.

Another way is, if your post same like other people post, trackback their post. I assume you know how to use trackback. :p

Submit to Blog Directory/Topsites
There are many blog directories in the Internet. Submit your site to as many blog directories as you can. Almost of them are free but some of them you need to put HTML code on your site before your site been listed in their directory.

And join topsites too. If your site is on top rank, there will be more peoples now about your site.

Signature in Email
Put your site link in your email signature. So each time you send or reply email, the receiver will see it. So they’ll know that you have a site and they will visit your site to see what your blog is about.

Join Exchange Link program
This program is a two way feedback. You put their site link on your site and they will put yours on their site. The system goes like that. Beside increase your page rank, it also can bring more peoples to your site.

Public Bookmarking
Submit your contents to any public book marking sites such del.icio.us or Furl, etc. There are many to list here. But make sure that you submit on specific topic or people will ignore it.

Submit to Search Engine
Submit your site link to popular search engine such as Google, Yahoo, etc. There are some sites that can submit your site to 20 search engines for free.

Ping your site
This is a must. Ping your site to Pingoat.com or Pingomatic.com each time you update your site. Both of them give the best ping-ing services.

Well, if you have make all these things I’m sure in one week or maybe less, you will have regular visitors that come to your site. But make sure you have good contents on your site or you will loose them one by one.
