When attempting to advertise your site with the use of a press release, the main thing to remember is to be short and to the point.

A press release is not a place for a long-winded in-depth discussion of your website, this style of press release would result in not being fully read or worse, not being accepted by the press release distributor.

Think of a press release as a short newspaper article. Introduce your site, quickly address its main features, sum up why it’s a useful site or should be visited, and be done with it. You might include one or two sentences regarding what makes your website or program differ from others that may be similar.

Always end your press release with the way the reader would find out more information about what it is you’re promoting. Whether this is a link to your website or an email address, it is important to end the contact by putting the action in the hands of the reader
