Becoming a known member and contributor to an established online forum is a great way to advertise your website. Put a link to your site or blog in your “signature” space (the text that will appear at the bottom of every post you make) and then participate in forum discussions. If you are a pleasant and helpful person in your forum communications, people will generally extend those feelings towards the site in your signature. Try to be helpful, answer questions, post good solid information, and above all don’t spam the forum with blatant advertising. Slowly over time your reputation will build and soon you’ll get a good amount of visits from your forum participation. Double or triple the effectiveness of this strategy by becoming a member of a second or third forum.
